RAID technology is a great feature of Lotus Notes that protects information in the event of a hard drive failure. A typical raid setup is made up of three or two hard disks. Each disk has its own data path. The transaction log is broken down into smaller files known as log extents. These files are typically 64MB in size. The Notes Machine supervises the transaction log.
